José Luis emphasized that cybersecurity is closely tied to business operations and must be aligned with corporate objectives, as companies rely heavily on their information systems. He stressed the importance of protecting data to avoid loss of services, data, and reputation, pointing out that cyberattacks tend to be indiscriminate, and thus every organization must be prepared.
He also pointed out that preventing security incidents is more cost-effective than resolving them, recommending a medium- to long-term strategy. He suggested starting with an assessment of the organization’s cybersecurity maturity level and, based on that, identifying and strengthening any vulnerable areas.
