IThinkUPC participated in the conference AINA: Integrating Catalan into AI with concrete examples, held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The event was organized by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, promoted by the Secretariat for Digital Policies of the Government of Catalonia, and featured the collaboration of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).
The event served as an opportunity for companies to discover how AI solutions in Catalan are implemented through the AINA project, understand the benefits this technology brings, and find inspiration to incorporate it into their processes, thereby reinforcing competitiveness and innovation in their respective sectors.
During the session dedicated to real-world use cases of the AINA project, Daniel Méndez, Analytics & AI Project Manager at IThinkUPC, presented a practical application of artificial intelligence in Catalan aimed at the business environment.
Specifically, he demonstrated how Coloq.ia, our corporate solution for chatbots and artificial intelligence agents, integrates the LLM models from the BSC’s ILENIA-AINA project, such as Salamandra 7B and Salamandra 40B. The example illustrated how AI in Catalan can facilitate access to information, improve process efficiency, and deliver real value to organizations.
The conference offered a comprehensive view of the impact of AI on organizations and highlighted the importance of technological sovereignty and of Catalan as a language of innovation. In addition to IThinkUPC’s participation, experiences from other companies and industry professionals were presented, creating a space for knowledge exchange and networking.
At IThinkUPC, we highly value having been part of this initiative, which demonstrates that Artificial Intelligence in Catalan is already an applicable reality, and reaffirms our commitment to developing responsible, useful AI solutions adapted to the needs of people and organizations.
