We achieve a strong result in Splunk’s cybersecurity CTF
The IThinkUPC team that participated in Splunk’s CTF: Santiago Sierra, Rubén Cerdà, Víctor Sánchez, and Marc Baulenas.

On May 7, we took part for the first time in the CTF organized by Splunk, BOTS. A CTF (Capture The Flag) is a cybersecurity competition in which participants must solve challenges across various categories (cryptography, web, forensics, etc.) to find “flags” (hidden text fragments) and score points, competing against other leading companies in the sector.

We wanted to demonstrate our commitment to cybersecurity and our ability to respond to threats, and that’s why our team, Santiago Sierra, Rubén Cerdà, Víctor Sánchez, and Marc Baulenas, worked hard throughout the competition, analyzing data and applying their technical skills to solve the challenges posed in the different scenarios. With a solid team strategy and effective collaboration, our colleagues achieved a commendable eighth place in the final ranking of participants from Iberia (Spain and Portugal).

This result reflects the team’s expertise and dedication in detecting and mitigating security incidents. Participating in this event was a valuable opportunity for us to test ourselves, learn, and reinforce our focus on digital resilience. It reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence in cybersecurity. The CyberSOC team aims to stay at the forefront of protecting our clients’ digital assets and ensuring business continuity in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

Congratulations to our teammates—and time to start thinking about the next edition to do even better! (Someone already has a few ideas… 🤫👏).
