On May 2, 2025, in our segment of the program L’Altra Ràdio (Ràdio 4, RNE), Javier Otero and Marcos Montero, heads of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation at IThinkUPC, continued to share insights on technological advances in the field of artificial intelligence.
Specifically, they talked about the fourth major family of artificial intelligence systems: physical AI, which is what makes intelligent robotics possible. They explained that this type of AI combines perceptive, generative, and agentic capabilities to act upon the real world, and that it is already beginning to be applied in both industrial and domestic environments.
They also mentioned how companies like NVIDIA, DeepMind, and Disney are collaborating to create new models and content aimed at training robots capable of performing complex actions, such as folding towels or serving a glass of water, without having been specifically trained for those tasks. One of the first examples of these robots has already been showcased at Disney theme parks.
