We share our experience in artificial intelligence for the public sector at the IA Lleida Conference

Compartim la nostra experiència en intel·ligència artificial al sector públic a les Jornades IA Lleida

On October 22, we took part in the IA Lleida Conference, organized by the Lleida City Council and the Government of Catalonia as part of Municipàlia, the trade fair for municipal services and equipment. The event, held at La Llotja de Lleida and dedicated to exploring the uses and potential of artificial intelligence in the local public sector, brought together institutions, companies, and professionals to share innovations and best practices in public management.

Our colleague Àlex Cifuentes, Business Development Manager at IThinkUPC, participated as a speaker in the round table “Practical cases of AI implementation in local entities”, alongside experts from companies such as Adtende, Braycom, Tendios, and Use It.

During his presentation, Àlex introduced Coloq.ia, our corporate solution for developing AI chatbots and agents that support municipal procedures and services. He also shared our vision of the four major challenges that public administrations face in harnessing the full potential of generative AI:

  1. Identifying and prioritizing use cases
  2. Creating, adopting, and scaling solutions
  3. Controlling and governing AI usage
  4. Preparing for a future with technological sovereignty

To address these challenges, Coloq.ia combines methodology, technology, and governance to deploy AI agents securely, at scale, and tailored to the needs of each service or department.

Among the real examples presented were:

  • A public chatbot supporting grant management, capable of resolving thousands of queries within just a few days.
  • Xat-I, an internal assistant designed to answer labor and regulatory questions.

We thank the organizers for the opportunity to participate in this space for discussion and collective learning, which reaffirmed that useful, ethical, and responsible AI is already a reality transforming public administrations.

We continue to work toward promoting AI that serves people and public institutions — making them more efficient, accessible, and innovative.
